Skokiesponsors travel teams in the Lake Shore Feeder Baseball League (LSFBL) for ages 8-14. You can view their site at LSFBL. The program is a great opportunity for those players seeking to play baseball at a higher competitive level.
SkokieBaseball will be holding travel evaluations for the 2016 season and we are looking to field Teams for 8U – 14U.
14U, 13U, 12U and 11U: TOMORROW, Friday, October 2nd from 5:30-7p at Laramie Park West, 7300 Niles Center Road in Skokie (if you are 11U or 12U and were unable to attend the first evaluation but are able to attend this day, please contact me first)
10U, 9U and 8U: Friday, October 9th from 5-6:30p at Terminal Park, 9401 Kenton Ave in Skokie
Saturday, October 10th from 3:30-5p at Central Park West, 3650 Lyons St in Skokie will be held as a rain out date and/or for any and all interested players (of all ages) that were unable to attend one of the scheduled dates listed above. Please ONLY plan to attend this evaluation if you absolutely are unable to come out on one of the earlier dates.
IF YOU WERE ON A TRAVEL TEAM IN 2015, we encourage you to still attend one of the upcoming evaluations.
If you already attended an evaluation, you are more than welcome to come out and join us again at one of the other dates in the coming weeks.
The 2016 season will begin June 1st and run through July 24th. We are working on securing indoor space so that teams can begin practicing together throughout the winter months before hitting the diamond in March/April. Players can expect to work hard together at practices in order to HAVE FUN playing the game. Players can also expect to have their team participate in one to several tournaments throughout the Spring and Summer.
If you are interested in attending any of the scheduled evaluations, please contact me directly at richbatista@aol.com or 773-805-5663 (via text or call). Please provide me with your [player’s] name and age group. The age is based on whatever age you will be ON May 1, 2016.
If you are somehow unable to attend one of these scheduled evaluations, but are interested in the travel program, please contact me directly.
Please be sure to dress appropriately and bring athletic shoes/cleats, athletic supporter, bottled water, your bat (if you have one) and sunglasses (just in case, if you have them).
We will be evaluating hitting, fielding, pitching and running.
We invite and look forward to seeing all the players who love baseball and have a strong desire to compete at a higher level. This program only works with your participation. By joining and getting involved you can make a big difference in building a strong team and better players.
If you are interested in travel softball for the 2016 season, please contact me and I will be certain to get you in contact with someone involved with that program.
Thank you for your continued support of Skokie Indians!
